Letter from
District President, Neil Campau
Hello to the Men of the District of
Saginaw Bay, United Methodist Men
I and my team wanted to tell you of the
things happening for men of the district and sub-district
coming up this year. We have been very busy brainstorming
some ideas and have decided this year instead of the
training Rally we had last year which worked out very well,
but a Rally, this year which is the same date as last year
on the 30th of May in Midland, that will give a insight into
a man who loves Jesus very deeply and has served Him in many
different capacities.
This gentleman had always dreamed of
spending some time with God in a very special way, and by
doing this, learning just what God may still have planned
for him and with that giving attitude this man has for God,
we thank him very much..
We are blessed to have Rev. Terry Euper
speaking at the Rally this year as he guides us up the
byways and down pathways of the Appalachian Trail. I and my
team feel so blessed that we can bring to each of you the
wonderful story of Rev. Euper’s journey as he tells us of
his experiences
and the people he meets as he and God
walk together in the beauty of the Appalachian Mountains.
Rev. Euper is an avid back packer. A
dream of his came true as he traveled the Trail beginning in
the summer of 2007 and spent five weeks experiencing faith
in a different and exciting way. Come and hear of his time
on mountain tops and the new friends he met as he reflects
on
" Joy in the Morning"
Coming in October is our annual retreat
which will be in conjunction with the West Michigan
Conference, Heartland District. This is our first endeavor
with this district to our west who has been having retreats
for many years. We are learning as we are fairly new at
putting on retreats so together we hope to learn and
experience together the love of Christ in exciting ways.
We are planning this in Gladwin "at the
Springs" on October.2,3.4, 2009.
This is a three day retreat starting on
Friday night and ending around noon on Sunday. The cost will
be $90.00 for the full program and if you want to bring your
son along it will be $80.00 for the full program. Our guest
speakers are Brad Kalajeinen and Ken Nash who spoke at the
Annual Conference last year on "Growing your church where
you are". We are looking forward to their time with us as
well as the Praise band "Living Truth". There will be much
to do with plenty of time to walk the trails and find time
to talk with God. Fishing and canoeing, a 1100 ft zip line,
swimming, water slides, horseshoes, archery, hiking,
mushroom hunting, ping pong and many other activities.
Watch for our brochure in early summer.
