Letter From Sub-District President

 Howard Pawley

                December 26, 2009

                I wish to convey my sincere thank you to all of the United Methodist Men from our SUB-DISTRICT.   Our next winter meeting is at the Alpena United Methodist Church on January 16, 2010.   I sincerely pray that the turn out of United Methodist Men will be great.   I know that the weather will have much bearing on the attendance,  however, the Lord will see us through the snowy weather.

                I would also like to thank each and everyone of the United Methodist Men from Alpena, Ossinekie, Tawas, Spratt, Hillman and Oscoda.  Gentlemen without YOU there would be NO SUB-DISTRICT, and I sincerely thank you for your presence and your open hearts.  Thank you all.

                PLEASE DO NOT FORGET:

                    1.)     Saginaw Bay District Leadership Day in March.

                    2.)     The Spring Rally - - - sponsored by the Saginaw Bay District United Methodist Men in May.

                    3.)     The Fall United Methodist Men's Retreat.

                    4.)     The next United Methodist Men's SUB-DISTRICT meeting in April, Location to be announced.

                At the SUB-DISTRICT meeting at Oscoda UMC,  the majority of members voted to support the PET
Project financially.   Many sites are springing up to  assist in the production of P.E.T.'s, some in garages, some in home work shops of skilled persons, some in warehouses.  Other caring persons say, "We can build PET's  also, and other PET production sites were developed.   Presently there are 8 production sites, and 8 more are in the planning stages.   If interested, Chuck Hunt has a home work shop in his garage and would be happy to pass on any information that is needed.

                I also remain passionate about "The Wesleyan Men Movement of the United Methodist Church."  We MUST provide our youth and younger generation with "Spiritual Fathers" to provide leadership and mentoring, to enable the younger generation to grow our churches.  For more informatlion on the above Wesleyan Men's Movement go to:

                "The United Methodist Church cannot grow without growing men."

                Thank you very much for our time and we will see each and everyone at the SUB-DISTRICT meeting In Alpena on January 16, 2010.

                 God's love and blessings;
