Activities:

“The UMM group of the Tawas United Methodist Church is sponsoring a musical Christen concert performed by Living Truth 2.
This will be on Friday, August 20, 7:00pm at our Church.

We are located on state highway M-55, ¼ mile from the junction of US-23 in Tawas City, MI

You are invited to come up and share a weekend of comfort, beginning with this concert and joining us in one of our church services, 9:00 or 11:00am on Sunday, August 22.

Living Truth 2 is a husband and wife ministry team composed of Elroy and Tammie Kosters from Caro, MI. Combined, this duo can play many antique and contemporary instruments, including acoustic guitar, Appalachian dulcimer, bass guitar, guitar-zither, bell chimes, djembe drum, keyboards, mandolin-guitar, marxaphone, melodic, psaltry, recorder, soprano saxophone, and wooden flute. They travel throughout Michigan presenting their ministry of music and occasional drama sketch in combination with their testimonies of a vital, growing relationship with Jesus Christ.”

Tawas UMM was revitalized in late 2006 by Rev. Reed Swanson. Over twenty (20) years ago Tawas UMM was active and met on a regular basis.

At this time we have agreed to meet on the second Thursday of each month at dinner time. We also have a Thursday morning study group.

We have contributed to projects at our church such as helping to pay for a new roof on our church, support a mission trip to Biloxi, MS for help with Hurricane Katrina relief. The former Tawas men's group participated in the Potato project and at this time we are exploring renewing that and other ongoing projects.

The membership and attendance to our meetings is low at this time but with the help of our new Pastor Mary Shipley, we are hoping for a bright future.
